TRADING

Local roots. Global reach.

The Arthur Companies has been connecting farmers to markets for over a century. Today, our trading division builds on that legacy — linking regional production with domestic and international demand through disciplined merchandising, logistics, and strategic partnerships.

Our traders combine deep market experience with on-the-ground relationships that span the northern tier of the U.S., giving us access to one of the most reliable, high-quality grain and fertilizer supply regions in the world.

Whether we’re sourcing hard red spring wheat for a North American miller, coordinating vessel loads for export, or supplying crop nutrients through AgResource, our approach remains the same: reliable supply, transparent execution, and long-term partnership.

Why The Arthur Companies

Trading at The Arthur Companies isn’t about chasing margins — it’s about building markets. Our team brings together deep experience in grain merchandising, fertilizer distribution, and logistics management with a farmer-first perspective that comes from more than 100 years of local relationships.

When you trade with The Arthur Companies, you gain a partner with the scale to reach global markets and the agility to respond locally.

We know where the crop comes from, where it’s going, and how to make sure it gets there — efficiently, competitively, and reliably.

Grain & Oilseed Trading

Supplying consistent quality for domestic and export markets.

The Arthur Companies is a trusted supplier of hard red spring wheat, durum, and feed grains to customers across North America and abroad. We provide both spot and forward contracts, as well as customized risk-management and logistics solutions for end-users, millers, and processors.

Our team’s long-standing relationships with growers and local elevators give us direct access to some of the most productive farmland in the country — ensuring traceability, quality assurance, and consistent supply throughout the year.

Our capabilities include:

  • Procurement and origination of HRSW, durum, feed wheat, and feed grains
  • Rail and truck logistics from the Northern Plains to U.S. ports and processors
  • Export documentation and execution
  • Market intelligence and basis management support

Our foundation in wheat remains strong, but we continue to expand our footprint in oilseeds and specialty grains, building new relationships with processors and global buyers who share our focus on quality and sustainability.

Market Strategy & Risk Management

Information that creates opportunity.

The Arthur Companies’ trading decisions are guided by research, analytics, and long-term perspective — not speculation. We manage a proprietary trading and investing strategy that helps our team and customers interpret markets, manage exposure, and identify opportunity in both physical and futures positions.

Our internal analytics support:

  • Market forecasting and price trend analysis
  • Basis and spreads evaluation
  • Currency and freight monitoring
  • Data tools and insights shared with our merchandising and agronomy teams

By aligning our own trading strategy with the needs of our customers, we’re able to offer practical, data-driven insights that improve decision-making across the value chain — from field to export.
